Experience the best of both worlds on this 8-night, 9-day journey through Belize. Explore ancient Maya cities hidden in the lush rainforests of the Cayo District for 4 nights, followed by 4 nights of sun, sand, and snorkeling on the vibrant island of Ambergris Caye.
Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Inland Transfer
- Arrive at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA).
- You’ll be met by our representative for a warm welcome and assisted with your luggage.
- Enjoy a scenic private transfer (approx. 1.5-2 hours) through the Belizean countryside to your chosen hotel in the San Ignacio area.
- Check in and relax for the evening.
Day 2: Caracol Maya Ruins & Rio On Pools (Inland)
- Departure:7:00 AM
- Embark on a full-day adventure deep into the Chiquibul Forest Reserve to visit Caracol, the largest Maya site in Belize. Explore towering temples like Caana (Sky Palace) and learn about this powerful ancient city.
- After exploring the ruins, cool off with a refreshing swim at the picturesque Rio On Pools, a series of natural cascades and pools formed by granite boulders.
- Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 3: Tikal National Park Adventure (Guatemala)
- Departure:7:00 AM
- Cross the border into Guatemala for an unforgettable day exploring the magnificent Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Marvel at the iconic Temple of the Grand Jaguar, Temple IV (offering panoramic jungle views), and the vast plazas of this major Maya metropolis. (Remember your passport! Border crossing fees may apply and are typically not included).
- Return to San Ignacio in the late afternoon/early evening.
Day 4: Free Day in San Ignacio (Inland)
- Enjoy a day at your leisure. Explore the charming town of San Ignacio, visit the local market, relax by the pool, or consider optional activities like visiting the Green Iguana Conservation Project, Xunantunich Maya Ruins, or canoeing on the Macal River.
Day 5: Cave Tubing, Ziplining & Island Transfer
- Departure:8:00 AM
- Check out from your hotel after breakfast.
- Head towards Belize City, stopping en route for an exhilarating adventure combo:
- Ziplining:Soar through the jungle canopy on a series of thrilling ziplines.
- Cave Tubing:Hike through the rainforest and then float on inner tubes through ancient Maya cave systems, admiring stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations with only your headlamp to light the way.
- After the tours, continue to the Belize City water taxi terminal.
- Board the water taxi for a scenic boat ride (approx. 1.5 hours) to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.
- Upon arrival in San Pedro, you’ll be transferred to your chosen island hotel. Check in and settle into island life.
Day 6: Free Day in San Pedro (Island)
- Relax and soak up the Caribbean vibes. Explore the sandy streets of San Pedro town by golf cart (rental optional), lounge on the beach, swim in the turquoise waters, or sample fresh seafood at a local restaurant.
Day 7: Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley Snorkeling (Island)
- Departure:8:30 AM (Morning or afternoon departures often available)
- Embark on a short boat ride to the famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Belize’s oldest marine reserve. Snorkel in “the cut” and witness an incredible abundance of marine life, including colorful coral, tropical fish, sea turtles, and more.
- Continue to Shark Ray Alley, a shallow sandy area where you can safely snorkel alongside gentle nurse sharks and southern stingrays – an unforgettable experience!
- Return to your hotel around midday.
Day 8: Free Day in San Pedro (Island)
- Enjoy your last full day on the island. Perhaps revisit a favorite spot, try paddleboarding or kayaking, go shopping for souvenirs, or simply relax by the sea. Consider an optional trip to Caye Caulker or a sunset cruise.
Day 9: Departure
- Enjoy a final Belizean breakfast (time permitting).
- Transfer from your hotel to the San Pedro Airstrip (SPR).
- Take a short, scenic local flight directly from San Pedro to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA).
- Your flight will be timed to coordinate conveniently with your international departure flight home.

- Midas Belize:A budget-friendly option located near the edge of town, offering a range of room types, a pool, and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Island (San Pedro – Choose 1):
- SunBreeze Hotel:Centrally located in San Pedro town, beachfront, with an on-site restaurant, pool, and dive shop.
- Bananas on the Beach:Located slightly south of town, offering beachfront suites and rooms with kitchenettes, two freshwater pools, and easy beach access.
Excursion Details
- Caracol & Rio On Pools:A full-day tour (approx. 8-9 hours). Depart at 7:00 AM. Includes guided tour of Caracol ruins and time for swimming at Rio On Pools. Requires travel over unpaved roads.
- Tikal National Park (Guatemala):A full-day tour (approx. 9-10 hours). Depart at 7:00 AM. Includes guided tour of Tikal. Requires border crossing (passport essential, fees may apply).
- Cave Tubing & Ziplining:A half-day tour combined with transfer (tour portion approx. 4-5 hours). Depart hotel at 8:00 AM. Includes safety briefings, equipment, guided ziplining, and guided cave tubing experience.
- Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley Snorkeling:A half-day tour (approx. 3-4 hours). Depart at 8:30 AM (check for exact time). Includes boat travel, snorkel gear, guide.

After we receive your reservation we do the accommodation availability check, once confirmed we email you which hotels you will be staying from the list on this package. You will receive confirmation within 24 hours. At this time we will need your flight information to add it to our arrival list and we will email a payment request from our bank. Note that our online payments on this website are handled securely by STRIPE a US credit card processor.
