    Terms, Conditions, and Cancellation Policy

    1. Payment Methods

    We accept the following methods of payment:

    • Credit Cards: Processed via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
    • Cash: Accepted at the time of pickup (US Dollars or Belize Dollars).
    • Zelle

    (No other payment methods are accepted).

    2. Rate Information

    • Minimums: Rates are based on a minimum group size of 2 persons. (Note: Some specific tours require a 3 or 4-person minimum; this will be listed on the individual tour description).
    • Currency: All rates are listed in US Dollars (USD) and are quoted per person.
    • Pricing: Prices are subject to change at any time prior to booking confirmation.
    • Group Dynamics: You may be joined with other persons or groups on a tour, but we strictly avoid large, overcrowded groups to ensure quality.

    3. Inclusions & Exclusions

    Standard Inclusions (Full Day Tours):

    • Dedicated van and driver transfer.
    • Guided tour with an experienced, professional guide (including specialist guides where appropriate).
    • Beverage cooler on ground transfers.
    • All entrance fees.
    • Local lunch with beverages.
    • Tour equipment (e.g., headlamps, inner tubes, etc.).

    Standard Exclusions:

    • Gratuities: These are optional and not included in the price. However, please feel free to tip your driver/guide for a job well done.
    • Personal Items: Items of a personal nature (souvenirs, medication, etc.).
    • Meals: Breakfast or dinner, unless specifically mentioned.
    • Specific Items: Any other items not explicitly listed in the tour description.

    4. Deposit & Payment Policy

    A. Tours

    • Deposit: A deposit of 30% to 50% is required to confirm most tour reservations.
    • Prepayment: You have the option to prepay your tour in full online. Email us at reservations@belizefuntours.com should you require paying the balance.
    • Final Balance: The remaining balance is payable upon arrival in Belize via Cash.
    • No-Show Penalty: Should you fail to show up for your tour without 48 hours' prior notice, Belize Fun Tours reserves the right to charge the full value of the excursion to the credit card on file.
    • Confirmation: Itinerary and rates are not guaranteed until reservations are confirmed with a deposit/payment.

    B. Vacation Packages

    • Deposit: 50% is due at the time of booking to confirm all vacation packages.
    • Balance: The remaining balance is due 60 days before arrival.
    • Late Bookings: All vacation packages booked within 60 days of arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking.
    • Confirmation: Hotel availability and pricing are not guaranteed until the deposit is made.

    C. Multiple Tour Bookings

    For guests booking multiple tours on different dates, full payment for all scheduled tours is due on the day of the first tour. This helps us confirm logistics, secure guides and transportation, and coordinate services across multiple days. Once payment is received, all tours will remain confirmed as scheduled. We appreciate your understanding, as this allows us to provide a smooth, well-organized experience throughout your stay.

    5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

    All cancellations must be made in writing (via email) to be valid.

    A. Tours & Shore Excursions

    • 8 Days or More Prior: Refund of amount paid less upfront costs (e.g., tickets purchased, reservation fees).
    • Less than 7 Days / No-Show: No refund.
    • Cruise Ship Guarantee: Cruise Ship guests will receive a FULL REFUND in the event the ship does not port or cancels its stop in Belize.

    B. Vacation Packages

    • 60+ Days Before Arrival: 100% refund (Less Credit Card Processing Fees). Note: Stripe, our US credit card processor, does not refund processing fees.
    • 31 Days Before Arrival: 50% of the total package cost refund less credit card processing fees.
    • Less Than 30 Days Before Arrival: No refund.
    • Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind through Allianz Travel Insurance or Travel Guard.

    6. Weather-Related Cancellations

    Your safety and enjoyment are always our top priorities. On rare occasions, tours may need to be delayed, modified, or canceled due to weather conditions that make activities unsafe, such as heavy rain, rough seas, strong winds, or other unforeseen weather events.

    If a tour is canceled by Belize Fun Tours due to weather:

    • We will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the tour to another available day, or
    • Offer a credit for future use, subject to any non-refundable costs already incurred (such as entrance fees or third-party reservations).

    Refunds are not guaranteed for weather-related cancellations, as many services are prepaid in advance. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unexpected disruptions. Belize Fun Tours closely monitors weather conditions and always makes decisions with guest safety in mind.

    7. Vehicle & Equipment Issues

    While we maintain our vehicles and equipment to high safety standards, unforeseen mechanical or equipment issues may occasionally occur. In such cases, Belize Fun Tours will make every reasonable effort to minimize disruption, including arranging a replacement vehicle or modifying the itinerary where possible.

    If a tour is significantly impacted and cannot be completed as planned, we will work with guests to reschedule the tour or offer a credit for future use, subject to any non-refundable costs already incurred.

    8. Changes to Tours

    There is no charge for changes made to the itinerary up to 48 hours prior to the tour day, subject to availability.

    9. Guarantees

    Tour Timelines & Back to Ship Guarantee

    • We are fully aware of ship deadlines and have never missed a ship's last tender.
    • Our guides remain at the designated meeting point until you arrive to ensure seamless pickup.
    • Next Port Guarantee: We are the only operator to offer a guarantee to get you to the next port at our expense should an unlikely error occur on our part.

    Guest Satisfaction Guarantee

    With 20+ years of experience in high-level hotel management and tourism, we excel at customer service. Our guides are carefully selected and trained to deliver outstanding experiences.

    10. Third-Party Services & Our Role as a Destination Management Company

    Belize Fun Tours proudly operates as a Destination Management Company (DMC) and works closely with a network of trusted, independent service providers, including tour operators, boat and dive companies, transportation providers, and accommodations.

    While we carefully select reputable partners and manage all arrangements on your behalf, some services included in your itinerary are operated by third-party providers that are not owned or directly controlled by Belize Fun Tours.

    On rare occasions, these providers may experience operational challenges such as mechanical or equipment issues, safety-related delays, weather disruptions, or other circumstances beyond anyone's control. Should this occur, Belize Fun Tours will always act in the best interest of our guests by assisting with alternative arrangements, rescheduling where possible, or coordinating any credit or refund offered by the supplier.

    Please note that refunds, credits, or compensation for third-party services are subject to the terms and policies of the individual provider. Belize Fun Tours' responsibility is limited to passing on any refund or credit actually received from the supplier and does not extend to additional compensation or losses.

    For added peace of mind, we strongly recommend that guests and travel agents arrange comprehensive travel insurance. While Belize Fun Tours does not sell travel insurance, there are many reputable providers offering worldwide coverage that can help protect against unexpected changes, delays, or disruptions. Our priority is to ensure a smooth experience, clear communication, and thoughtful support throughout your journey, even when unexpected situations arise.

    11. Liability & Indemnity

    Liability

    Belize Fun Tours acts only as an agent for the passengers regarding travel whether by private car, boat, aircraft, or any other conveyance. We assume no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect, through the acts of God, dangers incident to the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery, acts of government or other authorities (de jure or de facto), wars (whether declared or not), hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, pilferage, epidemics, medical or customs regulations, or from any cause beyond the control of Belize Fun Tours.

    We do not accept responsibility for loss or additional expenses due to delay or changes in schedules. We reserve the right to accept or decline any passenger should such person's health or general deportment impede the operation of the services to the detriment of other passengers.

    Indemnity

    When you book an excursion with Belize Fun Tours, you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of yourself and your party. We reserve the right to terminate your tour or that of any member of your party due to misconduct. If your actions (or those of your party) cause damage to tour equipment, you agree to fully indemnify us against any claim made against us or on behalf of the owners of such equipment.

    12. Important Disclaimers

    • Belize Fun Tours cannot be held responsible or liable for trip cancellations or altered itineraries due to reasons beyond our control.
    • There will be no refunds for no-shows, unused portions of tours, or Acts of God/circumstances beyond our control.
    • Belize Fun Tours is not liable for any injury, death, accident, delay, or loss related directly or indirectly to tours/trips.
    • Belize Fun Tours is not liable for any expense(s) incurred by loss or damage to the guest's personal property while participating in any tour.
    • Risk Awareness: The Customer and/or Agent declare they are aware of the risks of traveling through Belize. While guides will inform guests of safety procedures, it is understood that guests participate in adventure-based packages at their own risk.

    13. Force Majeure

    Belize Fun Tours shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations under these Terms and Conditions arising out of or caused, directly or indirectly, by circumstances beyond its reasonable control ("Force Majeure Events").

    Force Majeure Events include, but are not limited to:

    • Acts of God (e.g., hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, fires, or explosions).
    • War, invasion, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riots, or other civil unrest.
    • Government orders, laws, regulations, or actions, including embargoes or blockades.
    • National or regional emergencies, epidemics, pandemics, or quarantine restrictions.
    • Strikes, labor stoppages, or slowdowns.
    • Interruption or failure of utility service or transportation (including airport closures or flight cancellations).

    In the event of a Force Majeure, Belize Fun Tours will make reasonable efforts to reschedule services or offer a credit for future use, subject to the recovery of any non-refundable costs already incurred by the company.

    14. Acceptance of Terms, Cancellation Policy & Policy Updates

    By booking a tour, vacation package, or any service with Belize Fun Tours, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to our Terms & Conditions, Cancellation Policy, and all applicable policies as published on our website at the time of booking.

    These policies form part of your booking agreement and apply to all services provided.

    Belize Fun Tours reserves the right to update or modify its Terms & Conditions and policies from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Updated policies will be published on our website and become effective upon posting.

    By completing a booking, making a payment, or continuing to use our services after such updates are posted, you acknowledge and accept the revised Terms & Conditions and policies.
