Impressive Maya ruins
Xunantunich is spectacular. El Castillo dominates the site - huge pyramid with incredible frieze panels. The climb to the top is worth it for the 360-degree jungle views. You can see into Guatemala on clear days. Guide was knowledgeable about Maya history and architecture. Hand-crank ferry to cross the river was fun.
