Our guide Ricky made this trip unforgettable
We almost didn't book because coordinating everything ourselves seemed overwhelming. SO glad we went with this package instead. Ricky was our guide for the ATM Cave and his stories about Maya ceremonies gave me actual chills. He pointed out pottery fragments we would have walked right past. The whole week felt effortless - someone was always there to pick us up, answer questions, make sure we had water. My husband still talks about that Tikal sunrise.

Finally a vacation where I actually relaxed
I'm the guy who usually spends half his vacation stressing about logistics. Not this time. Every morning we just showed up and magic happened. Carlos took us cave tubing and had us laughing the entire float - he does this thing where he makes bird calls and actual birds respond. My mom cried at Xunantunich (happy tears!)
Brought my 68-year-old mom who was nervous about keeping up. The guides adjusted the pace perfectly for her. When we reached the top of El Castillo and she saw the view stretching into Guatemala, she just started crying. Our guide Mario gave her a moment, then told us about the astronomical alignments the Maya used. Mom's already asking when we can go back.

Worth it for Caracol alone
We've done guided trips in Costa Rica, Peru, Thailand - this was the smoothest. No waiting around, no confusion about where to be. Caracol was the highlight for us. We had the place practically to ourselves and our guide knew every building, every carving, every bit of history. She'd been guiding there for 15 years and her passion was infectious. The jungle drive to get there was an adventure in itself.

Solo traveler - felt safe and welcomed
