Package Overview:
This 8-day, 7-night package is designed for adventurers seeking to explore the rich inland wonders of Belize, specifically the San Ignacio region. You’ll delve into ancient Maya history, explore stunning cave systems, and discover the natural beauty of the Belizean rainforest. This package includes four full-day tours, each offering a choice of three exciting activities.
Important Notes:
- Pricing: Pricing is per person, based on double occupancy. Minimum of 2 persons required.
- Meals: Breakfast and Dinner are NOT included. Lunch is included on the four tour days.
- Transportation: Transportation to and from tours, AND round-trip airport transfers from Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) to your San Ignacio hotel, are included.
- Flexibility: Tours are subject to availability and weather conditions. Alternatives will be offered if necessary.

Day 1: Arrival in San Ignacio & Hotel Check-in
- Upon arrival at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), you will be greeted by our guide who will provide your transfer to San Ignacio (approximately a 1.5-2 hour drive).
- Check in to your chosen hotel. We have provided three options for you to choose from, all offering comfortable accommodations and convenient access to San Ignacio’s attractions: ( The option chosen is based on accommodation availability. the further out from your arrival day the better the chance of having availability.
- Option 1: San Ignacio Resort Hotel: Nestled on a hilltop overlooking the town, this hotel offers a blend of colonial charm and modern amenities. It’s famous for its on-site Green Iguana Conservation Project.
- Option 2: Cahal Pech Village Resort: Located atop the Cahal Pech Maya ruins, this resort offers stunning panoramic views of the Belize River Valley. It features Mayan-inspired architecture and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Option 3: Midas Belize: Situated on Branch Mouth Road, this resort offers a relaxed atmosphere with an outdoor pool, bar, and restaurant. The resort features homey rooms and cottages.
- The rest of the day is yours to relax, explore San Ignacio town, and enjoy dinner at one of the many local restaurants.
Day 2: Tour Day 1 – Choose Your Adventure!
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Your first full-day tour begins! Choose one of the following:
- Option 1: Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave: This is a full-day adventure into one of the most breathtaking and sacred caves in Belize. You’ll wade and swim through underground rivers, marvel at stunning cave formations, and witness ancient Maya artifacts and skeletal remains. This tour requires a good level of physical fitness.
- Option 2: Barton Creek Cave Canoe Tour: Paddle through a large river cave system, viewing impressive cave formations, Maya artifacts, and possibly even the resident bats. This tour is less strenuous than ATM.
- Option 3: Xunantunich Maya Ruins & Inland Blue Hole: Explore the impressive Xunantunich Maya site, including the towering El Castillo pyramid. In the afternoon, cool off with a refreshing swim in the Inland Blue Hole, a beautiful natural pool surrounded by lush vegetation.
- Lunch is included today.
- Return to your hotel in the late afternoon/early evening.
Day 3: Free Day in San Ignacio
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Today is a free day to explore San Ignacio at your own pace. Here are some suggestions:
- Visit the San Ignacio Market: Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the local market, where you can find fresh produce, handicrafts, and local cuisine.
- Explore Cahal Pech Maya Ruins: If you didn’t choose this on Day 2, you can visit the Cahal Pech ruins, located just a short distance from San Ignacio.
- Go Birdwatching: The San Ignacio area is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Consider a guided birdwatching tour or explore the grounds of your hotel.
- Relax by the River: Enjoy a peaceful afternoon by the Macal River.
- Dinner is on your own at one of San Ignacio’s many restaurants.
Day 4: Tour Day 2 – Choose Your Adventure!
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Another exciting tour day awaits! Choose one of the following:
- Option 1: Caracol Maya Ruins: Embark on a full-day excursion to Caracol, the largest Maya site in Belize. Explore impressive temples, palaces, and plazas, and learn about the rich history of this ancient city.
- Option 2: Mountain Pine Ridge Waterfalls (Rio Frio Cave & Rio On Pools): Discover the natural beauty of the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. Visit the Rio Frio Cave, a large, easily accessible cave, and then cool off in the stunning Rio On Pools, a series of natural pools and waterfalls.
- Option 3: Green Hills Butterfly Ranch & Botanical Collection: Visit the Green Hills Butterfly Ranch, home to a variety of Belizean butterfly species. Then explore the beautiful botanical collection.
- Lunch is included today.
- Return to your hotel in the late afternoon/early evening.
Day 5: Free Day in San Ignacio
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Another free day to relax and explore. Consider the following:
- Visit the Iguana Conservation Project: If you are staying at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, they have an amazing Iguana Conservation Project.
- Explore the town of San Ignacio and do some souvenir shopping.
- Book a cooking class and learn to make traditional Belizean cuisine.
- Visit the Belize Botanic Gardens.
- Dinner is on your own.
Day 6: Tour Day 3 – Choose Your Adventure!
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Choose your adventure for today:
- Option 1: Cave Tubing at Jaguar Paw: Experience the thrill of cave tubing! Float down a river through a series of caves, marveling at the stalactites and stalagmites.
- Option 2: Horseback Riding: Enjoy a scenic horseback ride through the Belizean jungle.
- Option 3: Macal River Canoeing: Paddle down the Macal River, enjoying the beautiful scenery and looking for wildlife. This is a relaxing and enjoyable tour.
- Lunch is included today.
- Return to your hotel.
Day 7: Tour Day 4 – Choose Your Adventure!
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Your final tour day! Choose from:
- Option 1: Tikal Maya Site (Guatemala): Take a full-day trip to Tikal, one of the largest and most impressive Maya sites in the world (located in Guatemala). Explore towering pyramids and learn about the rich history of this ancient city. Passport required. This tour often involves an early start.
- Option 2: Barton Creek Cave Kayaking: Explore the Barton Creek Cave by Kayak.
- Option 3: Belize Zoo and Community Baboon Sanctuary: Visit the Belize Zoo, home to a wide variety of Belizean wildlife, and the Community Baboon Sanctuary, a unique sanctuary protecting black howler monkeys.
- Lunch is included today.
- Return to your hotel for your final night in San Ignacio.
Day 8: Departure
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (not included).
- Check out of your hotel.
- Your transfer will take you back to the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) for your departure.
