Three adventures in one unforgettable day

This tour packed so much into a single day that I still cannot believe we did it all. The ATV portion had us riding through real jungle terrain with mud puddles and narrow trails surrounded by towering trees. Cave tubing came next and floating through those dark caves with nothing but a headlamp was surreal. The water was refreshingly cool after the ATV ride. Then we headed to Xunantunich and climbed El Castillo which gave us a panoramic view of the entire Cayo District and even into Guatemala. Our guide Julio was incredibly knowledgeable about the Maya history and pointed out the famous frieze carvings on the temple walls. Lunch was authentic Belizean and hit the spot.

Bucket list experience for our family

We booked this for our family of four and every single one of us had a blast. The ATV trails were exciting but manageable for my teenagers. Cave tubing was probably the highlight for the kids because they loved floating through the ancient caves and spotting rock formations shaped like animals. Xunantunich blew me away personally because standing on top of El Castillo and seeing the jungle stretch out for miles was breathtaking. The ferry ride across the Mopan River to reach the ruins was a fun bonus. Our guide explained how the Maya lived and traded here centuries ago. Pickup from the Radisson Fort George was right on time.

Worth every penny and then some

I almost booked just the cave tubing tour but went with this combo instead and I am so glad I did. The ATV ride was a total adrenaline rush with trails that took us deep into the Belizean jungle past farms and through creek crossings. After cave tubing we drove to Xunantunich and I got chills when I saw El Castillo rising above the tree canopy. The stucco frieze on the east side of the temple is remarkably well preserved. Our guide told us the site was a major ceremonial center during the Classic Maya period. The included lunch was chicken with rice and beans and plantains. Everything was well organized from the 7 AM pickup to the return trip.

My favorite day in all of Central America

I have traveled through Guatemala and Honduras visiting Maya sites but Xunantunich combined with the ATV and cave tubing was my absolute favorite day. The morning started with a pickup from the Best Western Biltmore and we were at the ATV site within an hour. The trails wind through thick jungle and you really feel like you are exploring untouched wilderness. Cave tubing was peaceful and beautiful. At Xunantunich we had the site mostly to ourselves which made climbing El Castillo feel so special. I could see all the way to the Guatemalan border from the top. Our guide pointed out howler monkeys in the trees near the parking area on our way out.

Incredible variety in a single tour

What sets this tour apart is the variety. You get the thrill of ATVs on muddy jungle trails, the serenity of floating through ancient caves, and the awe of standing atop a Maya pyramid all in one day. The ATV portion lasted about 45 minutes and we got absolutely covered in mud which was part of the fun. Cave tubing was relaxing and our guide told us about the geological formations as we drifted through. At Xunantunich the climb up El Castillo was a workout but the reward at the top was a 360 degree view of the jungle canopy. Lunch was served at a local restaurant and included fresh juice. Cannot say enough good things about this tour.

Our guide made the experience unforgettable

The thing that really elevated this tour was our guide Carlos. He was personable and funny and also deeply knowledgeable about the caves and the Maya history at Xunantunich. He knew exactly where to stop on the ATV trails for the best photo spots. During cave tubing he explained how the ancient Maya believed the caves were entrances to the underworld. At Xunantunich he gave us a thorough history lesson about the site and pointed out details on the frieze that we would have completely missed on our own. The logistics were smooth from the Belize City pickup to the lunch stop to the return. This was hands down the best tour we did on our entire cruise stop.

Covered in mud and loving every minute

The ATV ride through the jungle was hands down the most fun part of the morning. We hit puddles that splashed mud everywhere and the whole group was laughing and covered head to toe by the end. After we cleaned up a bit we went cave tubing which was the perfect cool down. The caves are stunning with stalactites hanging overhead and the water is crystal clear. Then we drove to Xunantunich and took the hand cranked ferry across the Mopan River which felt like stepping back in time. The ruins are impressive and the view from the top of El Castillo is something I will never forget. Lunch included rice and beans with stewed chicken and it was delicious.

    Perfect for adventurous couples

My husband and I did this as part of our anniversary trip and it was perfect. We wanted something active and culturally enriching and this delivered on both fronts. The ATVs were exciting without being scary. Cave tubing was romantic in a way because you are just floating through these ancient caverns together in near darkness. Xunantunich was the cultural highlight and we took our time exploring the different plazas and structures before climbing El Castillo. The view from the top was absolutely stunning. Our guide took a great photo of us at the summit with the jungle behind us. Pickup from Belize City was punctual and the van was comfortable and air conditioned.

Way better than what the cruise ship offered

We almost booked through our cruise ship but the prices were ridiculous. Found Belize Fun Tours online and it was half the price with a way better experience. Our group was small which meant personal attention from our guide. The ATV trails were muddy and thrilling. Cave tubing was peaceful with formations inside the caves that looked like they were sculpted by artists. The drive to Xunantunich took about 45 minutes through beautiful countryside and small villages. The site itself is impressive and El Castillo is massive when you see it in person. We were back at the port with time to spare before the ship departed. Highly recommend booking independently.

Educational and exhilarating all at once

I went in expecting a fun adventure day but came away having learned so much about Maya civilization. The ATV and cave tubing portions were great and got our blood pumping. But Xunantunich was where the tour really shone for me. Our guide spent nearly an hour walking us through the site explaining the significance of each structure and how the city functioned during the Classic Period. The frieze on El Castillo depicts astronomical symbols and deity figures and seeing it in person was incredible. I loved that we crossed the Mopan River on a small ferry to reach the site. Felt very off the beaten path. This tour strikes the perfect balance between adventure and culture.

My sons could not stop talking about it

I brought my two boys ages 12 and 15 and this tour was absolutely ideal for them. They were buzzing with excitement on the ATVs and could not stop laughing when we hit the big mud puddles. Cave tubing was a new experience for all of us and the boys thought it was the coolest thing they have ever done. At Xunantunich they raced each other to the top of El Castillo and were genuinely fascinated when the guide explained the history of the Maya who built it. We saw iguanas sunning themselves on the ruins which was a bonus. The included lunch was filling and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. This tour was the highlight of our entire Belize vacation.

A full day that flew by

I cannot believe how fast the day went by because every single activity was so engaging. The morning started with ATVs and the trails were challenging enough to keep things interesting without being dangerous. Then we switched gears completely and went cave tubing which was meditative and beautiful. The limestone formations inside the caves are thousands of years old and absolutely mesmerizing. After lunch we headed to Xunantunich and I was not prepared for how imposing El Castillo is in person. It towers over everything and the climb to the top is a must. Our guide pointed out where you can see Guatemala from the summit. Truly a full and rewarding day from start to finish.

Did not expect to be this impressed

I will be honest and say I booked this somewhat last minute without high expectations. Boy was I wrong. The ATV trail runs through authentic Belizean jungle with banana trees, birds, and creek crossings. Cave tubing was unlike anything I have experienced before because the caves are enormous and the water is so calm. When we arrived at Xunantunich and I saw El Castillo for the first time my jaw literally dropped. The structure is massive and the carvings along the upper facade are remarkable. Pickup was from the Ramada Princess and the driver was friendly and informative during the ride. Lunch was included and had fresh tortillas with rice and beans. This exceeded every expectation.

Absolutely the best way to see Belize

If you only have one day in Belize this is the tour to book. You get to experience the jungle on ATVs, explore underground cave systems while floating on tubes, and visit one of the most significant Maya archaeological sites in the country. Each activity was paced perfectly and we never felt rushed. Xunantunich was my personal favorite because climbing El Castillo and standing where the ancient Maya once stood was profoundly moving. The stucco frieze is one of the best preserved in all of Mesoamerica and our guide explained every symbol carved into it. The Mopan River ferry crossing was charming and felt like a real local experience. Simply unforgettable.

Nonstop action from morning to evening

From the moment we were picked up at 7 AM to when we were dropped back off around 5 PM this tour was packed with incredible experiences. The ATVs were powerful and the trails had enough variety to keep everyone in our group entertained. Some sections were smooth and fast while others were technical with deep mud. Cave tubing was a total change of pace in the best way possible. Then Xunantunich completely shifted the mood again as we explored ancient plazas and temples. The climb up El Castillo was the grand finale and the view at the top was worth every step. Our guide kept us laughing and learning all day long. Phenomenal experience overall.

Finally checked this off my list

I have been wanting to visit Xunantunich for years and combining it with ATVs and cave tubing made the trip even more special. The ATV ride through the jungle got my heart pumping right away. We passed through farmland and dense tropical forest before reaching the tubing site. The caves were dark and quiet and floating through them was incredibly peaceful. After a solid Belizean lunch we drove through the countryside to Xunantunich. Walking across the plaza toward El Castillo was surreal. The temple is enormous and beautifully preserved. Our guide knew every detail about the site and answered all my questions. I would do this exact tour again in a heartbeat.

Best tour our group has ever taken

There were six of us on a guys trip and we unanimously agreed this was the best excursion any of us have ever done. The ATV trails were legit and not some watered down tourist version. We got muddy and had a blast. Cave tubing was way cooler than we expected because the caves are massive and you feel like you are in another world. At Xunantunich the sheer size of El Castillo had all of us speechless. We spent a good 30 minutes at the top just taking in the views and our guide explained the entire history of the city. Lunch was hearty with generous portions. The whole day was expertly organized and worth every dollar.

Nature and history in perfect balance

What I appreciated most about this tour was how it balanced adrenaline with education. The morning ATV ride and cave tubing gave us that rush of outdoor adventure. Then the afternoon at Xunantunich provided a deeper cultural experience. Seeing the ancient Maya city emerging from the jungle was awe inspiring. El Castillo is the second tallest structure in Belize and standing on top you really understand why the Maya chose this spot. The frieze carvings on the east wall are intricate and our guide broke down the mythology behind each figure. We also spotted toucans near the ruins which was a wonderful surprise. Everything about this tour was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed.

Could not have asked for a better day

We were picked up at the Radisson Fort George right on schedule and the drive to the first activity was scenic with views of the Belizean countryside. The ATVs were well maintained and the trails took us through incredible jungle terrain. I loved splashing through the creek crossings. Cave tubing was magical and the natural beauty inside those caves is hard to describe. After a delicious lunch of stewed chicken and rice and beans we headed to Xunantunich. Taking the hand cranked ferry across the Mopan River to reach the ruins was a unique experience. El Castillo dominates the skyline and the climb up gives you a view that stretches all the way to the Guatemalan mountains.

Telling everyone I know to book this

I have already told at least ten friends to book this tour when they visit Belize. The three activities complement each other perfectly. ATVs give you that excitement and physical thrill. Cave tubing lets you catch your breath while floating through stunning underground chambers. And Xunantunich provides the cultural depth that makes the whole day feel meaningful. El Castillo is genuinely impressive and the views from the top are expansive in every direction. We heard howler monkeys roaring in the distance while exploring the lower plazas of the site. Our guide was warm and engaging and clearly passionate about sharing Belizean history. This tour is an absolute must.
